Can you guess what I put on my toast?

Are you even interested what I put on my toasts?

After this, I can officially be named the LAZIEST FOOD BLOGGER in the blogosphere for putting toasts on post for the fourth time (other toasts recipes can be found  here under “toasts and sandwiches”)!

Allow me to present you with tiger toasts – a fun way of making cheese and Vegemite toasts!

I realise this may be wayyyyy… too much Vegemite for some of you, which I can totally understand. Therefore please add another plain slice of toast to mellow down the “Vegemite” effect.

Tiger Toasts  (basically a patterned cheese & vegemite toast)

(adapted from Gourmet Sandwiches by Suzanne Blythin)

To make 2 toasts

  • 2 slices of bread (brown/white)
  • 1 slice of cheese
  • Some Vegemite

  1. Preheat your oven grill / use the “top heat” settings and set the temperature to 200 degree Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Lightly toast the fresh bread (From my toaster heat setting no.1 to 9, I toast the bread on 1).
  3. Spread the Vegemite on the toasts.
  4. Use a kitchen scissor and cut out the stripes (mimicking “tiger stripes”) and arrange them on on top of the toasts to your liking.
  5. Put under the grill and cook until cheese has melted (about 3 minutes).
